Located within 15 minutes of anywhere in the Twin Cities Buck Hill has been in the snow sports spotlight for the last 55 years, and this one is no exception! Recent upgrades and accomplishments include:
The installation of a new Magic Carpet lift for beginning skiers & snowboarders. The new Magic Carpet lift replaces the beginner's rope tow & J-Bar. The new lift extends to the top of the hill for a huge expansion of beginner's terrain, and features a covered bridge over another trail!
Fresh upgrades to the half-pipe, new tabletops, spines and rails all keep the terrain park on the top of its game all season long. Every season Buck Hill adds new snowmaking equipment to ensure we are always on the cutting edge of technology.
Last winter once again brought Buck Hill athletes to the limelight. We now have 3 former Buck Hill Ski Team members on the US Team including Lindsay Vonn winner of the World Cup overall title, the highest achievement possible. The United States Ski Association also awarded the Buck Hill Ski Team the highest achievement possible with the 2008 Club of The Year award.
Buck Hill continues to be a leader in the green energy program. Buck Hill still purchases
100% of its energy from wind energy-over 1.5 million KWhs annually. Purchasing this
large amount of wind energy is equivalent to planting 287 acres of trees annually!! ?
