Three Rivers Park District's Elm Creek Recreation Area, a premier regional park, provides an alpine ski/ snowboard learning area and terrain park, ideal for young learners; a major recently expanded snow tubing facility; and picturesque cross-country skiing trails. There is also a large lodge which features outstanding food, equipment rentals, and the acclaimed Three Rivers Park District SnowSports Academy. To lengthen the skiing opportunities, trails are lit for early morning or evening skiing, and some trails have machine made snow, allowing many weeks of skiing beyond what Mother Nature provides.
The SnowSports Academy at Elm Creek has expanded learn-to-ski programs for 2008, offering more times and more programs, for adults and children including private lessons. Elm Creek is a wonderful family friendly area to learn to ski or board. Using a proven teaching progression, Elm Creek was designated Minnesota's first Burton Learn- to-Ride Center. The staff at Elm Creek is dedicated to making it easy and fun to learn to snowboard.
