Three Rivers Park District offers Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area for those who seek extensive alpine and snowboard facilities. Hyland is known for some of the best snowmaking and grooming in the Midwest and the large chalet complex features an outstanding food court with daily specials, two levels of seating and accessory merchandise. Hyland?s large rental shop has an extensive inventory of ski and snowboard equipment. Lockers and a free ski/snowboard check also are available.
Hyland remains on the cutting edge by continually adding to the impressive array of progressive and innovative features in its terrain park. The park is accessed by two high speed rope tows where guests can find entry-level jumps and jibs while everyone from mid-level riders to pros can progress on the remainder of outstanding features.
The SnowSports Academy at Hyland continues its pioneering learn-to-ski "Hot Cocoa Club" for 3-4 year olds with their parents. It's all about creative fun in the snow, as parents participate with their child to learn the fundamentals of skiing. The developmental Alpine Jr. Race program is a great introductory race program that includes races with other ski areas and our X-Team program is a great way to gain experience and confidence in terrain park riding and competition.
Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area is located within Hyland Lake Park Reserve, five minutes from the Mall of America, just south of Interstate 494 and Highway 100 in Bloomington, Minnesota. The 1,000-acre park reserve features extensive winter recreational activities including lighted cross-country ski trails, snowshoe trails and a Nordic ski jumping complex. Hyland also offers early morning cross-country skiing at the base of the ski hill.
